Biography

BlackManWhiteBaby is a contemporary artist working in photography and video.
​Their self-portraits focus on themes surrounding race, gender identity, childhood trauma, and American culture.
​
In 2018, BlackManWhiteBaby's solo exhibition entitled, American Traditions, included a video installation and Spoken word.  An art installation, entitled, The highest paid person in this room is a white man, centered around a live music set performed by Canadian DJ, ATrack.

​The  show presented a hint of Southern hospitality while simultaneously showing the relationship between slavery and modern day commerce. Upon arrival guest were served fried chicken and biscuits by white-gloved Black men dressed as Uncle Ben. One of the gallery rooms was transformed into a chat circle with a group of actors telling stories in the voices of real people who were unarmed when killed by a police officer. One of the actors was the former college roommate of Sandra Bland.

In 2019, BlackManWhiteBaby's art was featured on the Fox Television series Empire.

​Collectors of their work include film producer-director, Lee Daniels and singer-songwriter, Lady Gaga.
